Dr. Chuck Callahan has lived in the Baltimore Union Square neighborhood with his wife Linda for seven years. They moved to the community with a number of other families to be part of the work of the Sowebo Community Church in Southwest Baltimore. Chuck has been a follower of Jesus for nearly fifty years, having roots in the Catholic Church and experiencing early discipleship training through InterVarsity in College.

Chuck is a physician by training, served in the Armed Forces for 30 years and has lived with his family in a number of places around the world. He and his family have been engaged in church planting in nearly all of those different locations. When he’s not working in public and population health or teaching, he enjoys reading, studying, bicycling and stand-up paddle boarding — and he gets embarrassingly excited about birds and birding with his wife Linda.  Hit him up if you can teach him to play the bagpipes; it’s his life’s goal to learn!
